Product modification and design service.

Most stock products can be modified by machining recesses, peripheral shapes or changing the hole size. Abtec will only accept orders for wheels that, when modified, conform to F.E.P.A. Safety Standards. In some circumstances we may be able to modify customer wheels. Terms and conditions apply.

Typical modifications include:

Opening up the hole or bore size.
Creating a single recess on one side of the wheel. Please advise diameter and depth of recess.
Creating a double recess on each side of the wheel. Please advise diameter and depth of recess.
Creating a peripheral shape.
Creating a bespoke size taper cup wheel, straight cup wheel, dish wheel, saucer wheel.
Speed testing.

Many Abtec stock products can be modified to suit a range of different machines by fitting hole reduction bushes. Bore or hole diameter: 31.75 mm (1 1/4"). Reducing bushes ( to reduce the bore of the wheel to the spindle size of the machine), when ordered with the wheel, are available free of charge in the following sizes: 1/2"(12.7mm), 5/8"(15.88mm), 3/4" (19.85mm), 7/8"(22mm), 1"(25.4mm).
