External cylindrical grinding effectively results in line contact between wheel and work, giving minimum grinding contact area. Increasing workpiece diameter relative to wheel diameter increases grinding contact area, resulting in different wheel specifications being required. Speeds and feeds will depend upon the power of the machine, workpiece material and finish required. The Abtec stock product range can be modified by machining recesses, peripheral shapes or changing the hole size and are modified to F.E.P.A. Safety Standards. Paper blotters will be supplied with each wheel.  The spindle speed of your machine must not exceed the maximum RPM speed of the wheel. You should ensure that you are fully informed on the safe operation of abrasive cutting and grinding wheels.
