External cylindrical grinding effectively results in line contact between wheel and work, giving minimum grinding contact area. Increasing workpiece diameter relative to wheel diameter increases grinding contact area, resulting in different wheel specifications being required. Speeds and feeds will depend upon the power of the machine, workpiece material and finish required. The Abtec stock product range can be modified by machining recesses, peripheral shapes or changing the hole size and are modified to F.E.P.A. Safety Standards. Paper blotters will be supplied with each wheel.

• For your safety all Norton, Flexovit, Klingspor, Dronco, Tyrolit and Abracs grinding and cutting wheels conform to the 'Organisation for the Safety of Abrasives'. This requires members to manufacture and document abrasive products to the highest safety standards.
